Pequot Lakes Public School District provides for the educational needs of Breezy Point residents. This district is known for it’s outstanding academics and wide variety of arts, athletics, and other extra curricular programs.
The Brainerd and Crow Wing County Public Transit & Pine River Service provide public transportation services to Breezy Point residents. These services are offered on a dial-a-ride basis.
The Breezy Point City Council consists of the Mayor and three council members who work to improve overall quality of life within the city. This council allocates the city budget, and provides legislative and administrative oversight for all policies and ordinances.
Breezy Point Resort became a popular tourist destination in the 1920s, with frequent visitors including Clark Gable and Carole Lombard. Because of the success of the resort, the surrounding area began to thrive, and by 1939 was incorporated into the Village of Pelican Lake to better support the population. In 1969 the name was changed to Breezy Point due to an unfortunate shipping mix-up, and in 1974, the village became the city we know today.
