Fall Staging Tips

Fall in the Midwest is one of the best times of the year. Perfect weather, changing colors, and all the fun holidays to celebrate. But what most people don’t consider is that it can also be a great time to sell your home! With all the seasonal changes fall brings, you have the opportunity to stage your home in different ways you might not be able to usually in order to attract more buyers. We put together a list with a couple of fall staging tips to better grab the attention of buyers during this wonderful season.

Work on Curb Appeal

Don’t forget to maintain your curb appeal. Sometimes we can get too caught up with what is happening inside our home that we neglect how it looks on the outside. With the leaves changing colors the outside of your home can look beautiful. Make sure to keep your lawn trimmed and leaves to a minimum. Remember to clean out your gutters too and clean the siding around your house to keep it looking brand new. You can always add in some season plants around your house to really accentuate the season.

Keep the Decorations Simple

Sometimes less is more. When decorating for the fall season try to keep the decorations simple and to a minimum. Play around more with fall colors rather than decorations. Too many can be a turn-off to buyers and make your house look cluttered.

Embrace the Natural Lighting

As the days get shorter it’s more important to make sure you have adequate lighting. Embracing the natural fall light during the day can really highlight your home’s best features. Since it can get dark quickly as the season goes on make sure to add in some lamps throughout your home to add some warm lighting.

Play Around With Fall Scents

Fall scents are one of the best things that the season brings in. Apples, cinnamon, pumpkin, and vanilla just to name a few. The way your house smells can be a big help when attracting potential buyers. Playing around with all the fall scents can really bring in the seasonal feeling when buyers step into your home. Plus who doesn’t love a good pumpkin spice scent?

Highlight Comfort

Fall is all about being cozy, with extra layers, many blankets, and of course all the pillows! Adding in an extra throw blanket or pillow can add a level of comfort to your home that will help make it more appealing to buyers. Don’t forget to emphasize some of your comfiest chairs as well!
