The COVID-19 pandemic is affecting people and lives around the world. RE/MAX Results, our staff, and REALTORS® are keeping health and safety a top priority. We have found many new, safe ways to offer the best service to home buyers and sellers given the current circumstances. Real estate is considered an essential business during the governor’s Stay Home MN order. People do need to buy and sell homes because of many different life circumstances and RE/MAX Results is here to help.
What can you do to stay safe and help prevent the spread of COVID-19 Virus? The virus is mainly spread from person to person. Follow these simple recommendations from the CDC:
- Keep your hands clean by washing often for at least 20 seconds using soap and water.
- If soap and water are not available, use hand sanitizer rubbing them together until they are dry.
- Don’t touch your face, eyes, or mouth with unwashed hands.
- Avoid close contact staying at least 6 feet away from others, which means avoiding gatherings and crowds.
- Stay home as much as possible.
- If you feel sick, stay home and self-quarantine.
- Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze using the inside of your elbow.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched items such as doorknobs, light switches, phones, keyboards, and other such surfaces.
To keep you, our staff, and Sales Executives safe, RE/MAX Results has adopted new policies. We strive to serve your real estate needs in a safe environment.
What is RE/MAX Results doing to stop the spread of COVID-19?
- We provide daily updates to our staff and Sales Executives on current conditions and any new procedures to be followed.
- Our offices remain open, however, visitors are strongly encouraged to call ahead to notify our staff of your arrival.
- Office staff is disinfecting office surfaces multiple times during the day.
- Sales Executives and visitors are asked to maintain a safe distance from office staff if they must come into any our offices.
- When we are not meeting in person with clients at our offices, video or teleconferencing is a safe alternative.
- All our training has gone online with no more in-person classes under the executive order.
- Results Title is still closing files, but with only the Closer and those people necessary to execute the documents. Sales Executives are asked to not attend closings as well as all other non-essential parties.
- Results Mortgage lenders are working from home and are able to get necessary documents online.
How are RE/MAX Results Sales Executives working safely with buyers and sellers?
- Open Houses have been suspended indefinitely. Our Sales Executives are now using live video, such as Facebook Live to hold open houses online.
- Buyers and sellers consult with our Sales Executives virtually.
- Listing appointments are done with video calls so our Sales Executives can see the home and discuss a plan of action with the sellers.
- We now offer virtual showings to help buyers decide if a listing is really the one they want to see.
- Sales Executives will meet clients at a property, driving separately, no handshakes, and parties will maintain a safe distance from each other.
- If showings are conducted, it is only with serious buyers, social distancing is practiced, sanitizing and disinfecting are a priority, and buyers are asked to not touch items in the home.
- Negotiation of contracts is done virtually.
- Contracts are written up and signed electronically.
